Well, it's only February, but the year seems to be cracking on.

Lots going on behind the scenes - a couple of shorts brewing, the novel is going through its first edit, and slowly I'm starting to think about queries for it once it's in better shape. A couple of comps have been entered, so fingers crossed.

Authorship has changed so where once upon a time an author could focus purely on writing, now one has to be a writer, marketer, designer, social media manager, and agent, even if one intends to go the traditional publishing route. Still, I think I have at least a good example of what I have in mind for the cover, even if it were to get picked up by a lit agent and then a publisher, so I think that may help.

One event this month has been to attend Eastbourne's first 'Town of Culture' meeting. I'm hoping to get more involved with that as it develops.

For now, I'm focusing on getting the edit done, and getting these two shorts shot. I'm excited to get back to writing, directing and producing my own work, and I'm also looking forward to potentially producing another for someone else - hopefully there will be more to report on that soon!
